Masterclass

The scientific coordinator of DVS, Darío Negueruela,  and scientific collaborator Iacopo Neri instructed the Masterclass “Data, Dictum” on Nov 29, as part of the Research & Methods course at the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia.

Data is not what it would seem

The mastercalss comprised a long lecture and a hand-on working session structured on a CLiP pipeline for the analysis of images of urban innovation

The lecture presented an overview of different research projects in light of a three-fold stance on data:

1. Against the neutrality of data     >>data portray the world partially and from a perspective
2. Against the harmlessness of data  >>data are not static, but trigger and operate
3. Against the univocality of data>>data are polysemic

Outcomes

The output of the exercise will compose a first iteration of the visual atlas of urban innovation as seen by CLiP, and its results will be compiled during early 2024
