My research focuses on the usage of computational methods for architectural history and their epistemological implications. At DVS, I am attempting to retrace the longue durée of formal systems of interpretation of the architectural space. I am currently particularly interested in the presence of computational thought before computers in Italian post-war theoretical scholarship.
I am also a post-doctoral researcher at EPFL’s Digital Humanities Laboratory, where I recently finished my doctoral dissertation on Venice’s urban and architectural history, entitled “The Skin of Venice: A Computational Approach to the City’s Urban Structure”.
There I am currently working on an upcoming book on the 1741 Catastici administrative censuses of the city. I am also a Research Fellow for the year 2025-2026 at Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice.
